Petrified Jungle Wood and Geological Art
Unique and rare petrified jungle wood from both Java and Borneo. We enjoy presenting these objects as sculptural elements that can enhance ones surrounding. These beautiful stone objects were once a majestic iron wood or suar tree! The larger pieces can used as a bedside table, coffee table, or an amazing pedestal to display your fine art.
Other geological pieces include: Jasper which is a mixture of chalcedony, quartz, and opal. It is opaque and comes in a variety of colors, including red, green and brown - or in interesting combinations of these. Varieties of chalcedony are popular with collectors and jewelers. Please check our inventory periodically as new and unique finds are becoming available!

Stone Carving
Stone work is both from Java and Bali Indonesia. Java has an ancient tradition of excellent detailed carving in Andesite stone. Hues of red, grey and black are often seen. Limestone and Bali Paras are carved in Bali with fine detail and depict many subjects including: Dewi Tara, Ganesha, Shiva, Dewi Ganga, Rama, Sarasawati, Dewi Durga, the Buddha, and many others. Beautiful water vessels and urns can add that special feeling to your personal temple universe.
Wood Carving
Ring of Fire currently imports wood carvings are from Bali and Kalimantan.
Bali-
Many fine examples are from the central Bali village of Mas. Carvings that are highly unique and of a baroque style can be found on the north coast. These include doors and temple elements along with antique Bali-Hindu gods.
Kalimantan -
Ancestor spirit carvings produced out of ironwood are also part of the Ring of Fire collection. Woods used for most fine carvings include Jati-teak, ebony, suar, ironwood and jackfruit.
Furniture
We carefully choose many excellent pieces, handcrafted by artisans from both Bali and Java. We select the pieces based on quality and uniqueness of design, and the objects function as a piece of unique and beautiful furniture. Design elements, motifs, and styles of ancient times are being combined in new ways with intresting results. We import hardwood doors from Bali made from teak and jackfruit wood; tables made of teak, mahogany, suar or ironwood; as well as teak benches and cabinets from Java. These along with unique stone and petrified wood end tables and stools add to the complete Ring of Fire design collection.
Weavings - Textiles
The living core of our mission at Ring of Fire is to not only to bring forth amazing examples but to restore and promote traditional wisdom. We offer the finest pieces that are from natural dye cultivation and many times hand-spun.
Ikat weaving has a vibrant and meaningful history in Indonesian culture. The ikat process is a truly complex art form using age old techniques passed down for generations involving intricate hand knotting and dying of threads. The word "ikat" in Indonesian means "to tie off".
Our collection features work from the islands of Sulawesi, Bali, Savu, Flores and Sumba. Large burial cloths from Sumba; tube sarongs from Flores and Savu; beautiful earthen pieces from Sulawesi; and the powerful healing cloths (the Gringsing) from Bali.
We feel this Art form can carry on for generations if we as collectors and dealers encourage the best and most traditional pieces. Over the years, it has been a wonderful experience traveling to many remote islands and meeting the weavers!
